I live in NYC and hardly visited McDs bc there are hundreds if better burger places out here. There is a Bareburger by me, which is organic lean burgers with real cheese and you can pick a wheat bun or lettuce wrap. Obviously i would choose this place over Mcds, i do not even enjoy them. Burger does not always mean fast food. I am a foodie so quality over quantity for me. I do not plan on even attempting a burger until like 4 months out, i can hardly tolerate pureed chicken. I do believe the sleeve is the tool to teach moderation and to not deprive yourself of "no no foods", we just need to be smart.

Dianne38 I respect you for being honest. Not everyone is perfect like these people with so much self control! I understand what you mean by they take it so seriously, you didn't mean that your health is not important. Enjoy your life and be happy!

I too was dying for a burger so I tried Weight Watchers Smart Ones - 2 cheeseburgers in a pckg. Removed bottom bun off one. Ate with a knife and fork to make sure my bites were tiny and almost finished it. I know processed food is bad, but as a once in a while treat for lunch, it did the trick, got my burger craving satisfied too.

I admire honesty as well, although I wouldn't necessarily tell people they're taking WLS wayyy too seriously. The same as I wouldn't tell people I think they're not taking it seriously enough :)

I DID NOT SAY they were taking the WLS too serious....I said they are taking the idea of eating something not considered healthy too serious. The surgery isvserious...but eating a fried chicken wing wont kill you neither will a donut, if it does you had other problems than weight.

So eating half a Big Mac is eating healthy? And "life" means eating a Big Mac and Crispy Creme donuts? Or more to the point' date=' is "life" eating what you want, when you want? Maybe life means not being a slave to cravings for crappy food that I used to eat, even half of it.[/quote']

Don't be an idiot....I never said it was my life. I said if I crave one I will have one without feeling guilty.....however because of the sleeve I dont have the cravings....when you read try opening your mind as well....it works. Life is whatever makes you happy.....at 140 with a 24 inch waistline I'm pretty sure that donut won't send me into an unhealthy stage or ruin my life.

People......I didnt say I eat hamburgers and donuts everyday....I said If I crave one or want it Im going to have with out guilt. My God lighten up.....everyone is not as PERFECTLY self controlled as you are. Some of us understand that an indulgence every now then wont end the effects of the sleeve. If it tales total dedication to only healthy foods for you....thats fine, but dont lash out because ot doesnt take that for me.

I think you have anger management issues, not to mention you're just plain rude. If someone can't disagree with you without you resorting to name calling....sheesh. You said there is life after surgery, and made it sound like that life included eating junk food. I just asked the rhetorical question, why does life have to be about eating food that we know is bad for us? That was the kind of thinking that got me to the point I was before surgery, and I can't be the only one.

So true. Butter the bean

Whats true....his comment is way off the point. I said if I crave one I will have one. The comment would pnly be relevent I stated I eat this on a daily schedule. I can assure you that neither of you are any healthier than I am. I teach aerobics 5 days a week....two different times each day the day.... I take no medications besides Vitamins and bioton....Im pretty healthy, even after that killer donut.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
