Anyone else not comfortable with your surgeon's office?

The only center of excellence hospital in how far of a distace? Center of Excellence hospitals are a dime a dozen where I live here in Kansas but I dont know about elsewhere. I hope I didn't offend you, I just felt that it was a point worth mentioning and I'm sure you understand since you work with the public llike that.

Bariatric patients are notorious for being hell on wheels to deal with sometimes. lol

man that stinks. Well, then I would maybe echo what someone else said (I think that was on this thread anyway) about contacting the office manager and expressing your concerns about this having been almost over a year now that you have been trying to complete this process and that the timeliness is really leaving something to be desired. If you are super sweet they may pull some strings for you.

You need to really let that office know loud and clear how disappointed you are. I had lots of your exact problems. One day - at the office - I let them know. I couldn't take the delays and the poor communication anymore. I let the girls behind the desk know the following : " Listen to me - I am scared. This is a life changing event for me and I need people that are knowledgeable and compassionate. I need help from you people - not to be pushed aside. If you don't have time for me and can't take time to make sure all the things I need for this surgery are ready and correct- then I wish you would have told me that day one. I would not have wasted your time." My legs were shaking. I had never stood up for myself. At home I fired off an email to the office manager and my surgeon. What a difference it made for the rest of my journey. I just had surgery on 01-14-13. And originally, my insurance company denied my request. I appealed - and I won that appeal. If you believe you are on the right path - nothing will stop you. Good luck. Stand up for yourself.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
