letting my dog in bed with me.

I think my dog was just looking for a warm spot!!

I told my husband I'm about to just give in and buy her some stairs to get in easier ( she's a chihuahua) 0_o

I guess I get your doctors point.. Like I said I hadn't thought about it that way but my dog didn't lay on my tummy she burrows down by my legs.

I have a chihuahua too and funny she goes under the blankets and down to my feet too! Also have a Puggle and an American Bulldog!

My 70lb sweetheart slept with me when I was home recovering. No infection to report. I say do as you wish.

And just for good measure- there is my pretty girl.

I adore shepherds. I had one when I was very young. I couldn't have her inside due to allergies. I have to stick to the hypo-allergenic breeds now because I firmly believe dogs belong inside. I'm doing fine - my incisions are starting to itch a bit but I think that's normal.

I have a full size labradoodle who spent every moment possible in bed with me! He lays right up next to me - just another kid as far as I am concerned! He did happen to be groomed 3 days before my surgery and he does not shed. I just can't see the infection worry unless you were uncovering your incisions and purposefully expose them to unsanitary conditions.

Both my dogs slept with me. One even sleeps under the covers right next to me.

Yeah - I find it silly now too. They just made a statement in the preop class about it and asked who had pets sleeping with them. When I said me, they advised to send him to a friend's for three weeks. Totally not hoing to happen. He'd have a cow. He'd find his way home by escaping and making the trek. So I just wanted to be sure nothing was so horrible about it.

I love them, too! She is seriously the best dog either my boyfriend or I have ever had. I totally understand allergies! We have a cat that lives in the kiddos room because of my allergies! Sucks! My mom has a little guy that looks so much like yours! My shepherd totally thinks he is the boss :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
