I eat ~500-700 calories. 50-60 carbs. I've lost 48lbs in 9 weeks.

I'm 2 months post op. I try to stay in the 600-800 calorie range. Some days I go higher 900-1000 it depends on my hunger level. I do feel hunger now, I didn't the first month or so but it retuned though its not like it was pre op. I try to keep it low carb but I'm not struck in carb count honestly. I look at my total for the day and try to keep it under 50 but If I go over as long as I was eating things that were nutritional I don't freak out.

Typical day for me

B 1 egg, shredded cheese and spinach

S turkey jerkey stick

L left over Protein of some kind- chicken and a veggie maybe

S cheese stick and hummus

D ground turkey and white Beans with kale

S diet hot cocoa and SF raspberry Syrup

I'm still losing regularly even though some times my calories are higher. I lost 5lbs this last week- usually ill lose 2-5 so I think it's good and really depends on the type of foods you eat.

I'm going on 3 years post op now, but when I was back to real food, during my losing phase....I called 1% Cottage cheese, the breakfast of champions. The foods that allowed me to meet or exceed my daily Protein goal by 2 months out were cottage cheese, eggs, tuna with 2 TB of Lite mayo per can, steamed shrimp - it's low cal and fish is still 'easy' on my tummy, not as dense as pork, beef or chicken!! I still log my food on line most days and I still weigh or measure my food when we eat at home! It's a game to me, it's fun.....it's a habit!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
