Anyone a slow loser at first then things improved?

30 and change off since surgery 11.28.12...stalled at 3 weeks, and another one now at week 7

No real cheats. Eating 3+ small meals, mostly Protein. Trying to increase fluids.

Just wondering if any of you were in the same boat as us newbies, only to see major cumulative losses over the next six months or so.

It's not that I am a hurry or a race (okay, maybe a little..lol), but just knowing that things do work out, equilibrate, is comforting to know.

I saw another poster's log of dates and weights, and it appeared to be a slow steady loss of 1-2 lbs per week.

I am really not trying to compare, just wanted to know if this is to be expected and not to get overly concerned.

Thanks!

Id say Im on the slower end of losing but Im not complaining. Im fine with slow and steady. Today is my 6 week post op and Im down 18 pounds. Thats 3 pounds a week which in my mind isnt too bad. Im down 38 pounds from my heaviest before surgery so Im pretty happy. Almost in the 100's which makes me giddy :) I did stall at 3 weeks for about a week then upped my calories and broke right thru that puppy.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
