banditchic 83 Posted January 16, 2013 My surgeon is using a 32 bougie. I think that is "average"? What size did your surgeon use?
SusieK710 130 Posted January 16, 2013 40, Dr. stated that there were reduced leak rates with a 40. Recovery has been relatively easy. 9 days out, 10 pounds down and getting all my Water in, and 50 gms or Protein (need more but ok for now). Hopefully that will help with less hairloss! notmeanymore 629 Posted January 16, 2013 My surgeon did a 32 french bougie (thats what he calls it). Said it was his standard size and in his research is the best, not too small where you cant eat anything and not to big to risk not losing enough. I am very happy with my 32 pouch. ladiJ 83 Posted January 16, 2013 I just asked my doc at my check up last week. He uses a 34 bougie. I think its just the right size for me.
ISleevedIt 380 Posted February 1, 2013 How much of a difference is a 32 bougie than a 38? 38 is what my doctor uses.
lessofmeismore 1,405 Posted February 1, 2013 The difference is very little... There's a picture floating around here somewhere showing the different sizes. My bougie size was a 32... The difference is like a pen compared to a sharpie not a fat sharpie just a standard sharpie marker To me it doesn't seem that much of a diff.
