Nevermind, I just read your posts.

Sounds like from some of your posts you need a group or a psychaitrist to help with your food additcion.

Why are you eating all the time? Figure out why you are eating (home alone, bored, stressed) and find something else positive to do instead of eating. Go for a walk. Read a book. Do some jumping jacks, anything but eat and join a support group. If you can't do it on your own get some help. It is too early to give in to defeat!

Some medications can increase hunger as well. You may want to look into that. Hang in there and don't give up and "keep your eye on the prize"!

LadiWobs,

I also had surgery with Blue Point and Dr. Nain. I am sorry you are struggling. I am now 18 months out and I consider the sleeve the best thing I could have done for myself. It was not always easy, I too ate some of the wrong things and gained back some weight at the beginning. It is a learning process that you must open your mind to. I know it's hard! Please do not give up. Go to the meetings that the doctor offers and you will see results. The sleeve is your tool, you have to learn to use it!!

Please PM me if I can help in anyway.

Hugs!

Hi. Don't be discouraged............I did the same thing. I had my surgery on Nov. 20/12 and at that time weighed 268 lbs. Post surgery during the two week fasting, I went down to 255 lbs. I had my surgery in Tijuana, Mexico and upon return, I weighed 269 again but I did learn that there is weight retention due to surgery plus the fact that your body does not want to let go of the pounds. It has been slow going but as of today, I am down to 243 lbs. In my opinion, this is not enough but I am told that approx. 10 lbs per month is healthy. Please dont say your surgery was a mistake...........even though the weight loss is slow, it is still loss and yours will come. Take care.

I understand how you are feeling. I just had to have a "come to Jesus meeting with myself" You need to remember why you had this surgery. A new life, new opportunities to get healthy. This is just a tool but a great one! I am not starving like I was when trying to diet before and there is no way I can eat as much. All I really have to control is why I choose to put in my mouth. So fill your home with nothing but Protein and go ahead an eat. I know for me there is no way I can overdose on lean protein choices

If you need help with emotional/binge eating or food addictions, check out overeaters anonymous. They have free meetings everywhere, even online. These meetings have restored me to sanity now that I physically can't eat to deal with my emotions. Best of luck!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
