It sounds absolutly ridiculous but try to find a tween to teach you how to burp on command.... it'll REALLY help when you take too big of sips of Water because you feel like you are dieing of thirst!

I just appologize ahead of time and try to be as quiet as possible. Luckily my husband routinely does far more gross things and my kids think it's hillarious! lol

Ditto on the bleching :) It helps tremendously.

I also feel like I wish I had inforporated Fiber into my diet from day 1. I also wish I had found a Protein shake that I actually liked before the surgery so I didn't have to scramble around trying to find one. Good luck!!!

Education! Read everything from your doctor multiple times. Read articles. Buy books. Stalk this forum. As you go thru each of the stages, you know what to expect and what to have ready. Then, as you notice something, "oh, I feel a little nauseated", your learning kicks in. " Oh yeah, stop drinking for a bit, and walk." Know the realities of a weightloss surgery.

Your tastes will change... just because you like a certain shake now doesn't mean you will still like it post op.

Be patient! Make sure you have someone to talk to about your progress. Your going to have very low days and very high days. You have to keep reminding yourself that there was a reason why you chose WLS. It wasn't overnight that the weight added up and it's certainly not going to be overnight that it comes off. Also, it helped me to keep a journal.

I like my scale it's been pretty nice to me so far :) Read up on stalls and expect at least one in the first month. It's just your body catching up. Oh - and take measurements!!

Don't be surprised if you are fatigued for the first few weeks. It's major surgery and you are consuming way less calories.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
