It does....I am 6 days post op and have been feeling better every day. Use your pilow to support your tummy. Sip, sip, sip....tiny amounts but frequently. I still have not reached the daily Fluid or Protein goal that they set for me. Still trying though. Good luck.

I am 4 days post op and yes, it gets better.

WALK! - I came out of recovery and I walked every hour. I measured by the tv programs, lol. One ended, I walked. Laps around the floor at the hospital. It really does help to alleviate the gas in there. Gas x strips, I hear, are great in assisting with relief. I've seen on other posts where people used a heating pad to alleviate some of the pain/gas.

I had mild nausea, but got it under control pretty quick. The nurses were great to give me something for it. By the time I would begin to feel nausea coming on, I would maybe have an episode, and they were there putting stuff in my I.v. again. :)

It will get better!

Good luck!

3 days post op here . No major pain issues but gas is still there. I can feel a bubble forming in the lower abdomen and rising to my stomach and then it gets painful. I need to take a big breath in and out to aleviate the pain. I feel like a big air bubble where i just want to somehow deflate myself with a needle :). I wish i could at least pass gas but thats been a challenge as well.

Thanks everyone. My surgeon upped my pain Meds and gave me anti nausea pills which have at least stopped me from dry heaving. I'm now thinking I should have taken the option to stay in the hospital for the extra night!

I see all of yous are about week or less post-op.. Congrats to all!!! I'm 14 weeks post-op almost 4 months :) my first week was the roughest! But it does get better everyday...I started to feel better too once I got to purée foods.. The liquid stage I was hungry all the time! But it does get better. I was sleeved 10/9/12..since October 1 I've lost 49 lbs but with pre op. diet I've lost a total of 82lbs... And as much pain I was in that first week was totally worth it!!! I started at 300 and I'm 218 this morning!! But think positive and welcome to the losers bench!!!! Happy loosing! :D

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
