Bos123 221 Posted January 16, 2013 Could be. I was 208lbs and my goal is 150lbs. My bmi was 33. Thanks We have the same stats!
hinportland 83 Posted January 16, 2013 I have lost 20lbs so far. I am happy about that' date=' but I honestly would rather have those 20lbs back plus some if I could turn back. I hate this new life. I'm tired of being tired. I barely eat and barely drink. Water makes me nauses. I hear of so many great stories and keep saying, maybe next week or month or year I'll be better. I am hoping that I feel different at 6mths. At this point I really dont care about anything else but feeling normal again. I am not one that had any complications. I believe all im going through is normal but when will it be over. Yeah, yeah, I'm only 5wks out but I do regret this surgery. I wish I could take it back. Oh yes, I did do plenty of research too. Another thing I regret is having my surgery in Mexico. The staff and surgeon were great but now who do I see for my followups. Email just doesn't do it for me. I dont have health insurance so I guess I just have to pull thru myself. Im sick of Protein shakes, Soups, and apple juice. I wake up each morning thinking am i gonna be able to eat and drink normal today?. Gosh I better quick because im could just go on and on the way I feel right now.[/quote'] I feel your frustration. I'm 6 weeks out and have lost only 22 lbs. But I'm trying to look on the bright side. I'm pulling clothes out from the back of the closet that I haven't worn in over a year, it's so much easier to tie my shoes, the indentation my socks leave in my ankles isn't as bad as it was 6 wks ago, and my skin springs back quicker, my bras feel better cause they're not as tight, my face looks so much less puffy and I actually feel pretty sometimes, the weight is coming off much slower than expected, but 10 lbs a month is a really healthy weight loss rate, and we'll have great success keeping it off. At 5 weeks you should be able to eat more than just Protein Shakes and Soup. Do you have a list of approved foods? Hang in there. Next year when you're sporting an itsy bitsy teensy yellow polka dot bikini you'll be glad you did this. Oh, and sex gets better cause you're more flexible! :-)

fire water 20 Posted January 16, 2013 For the first couple weeks, I wondered if I was nuts for doing this to myself. But now my clothes are hanging on me. I have never had much success keeping weight off. I feel this is chance for a new life. Are you getting any exercise? I am briskly walking 2-3 miles a day. I feel this is critical in my case to having energy. I hope you have a change of heart. Twenty lbs is a great start. Check out "the World according to Eggface". She has many Bariatric recipes that will give you ideas on meals that might encourage you to eat. Good luck.

SeriouslyChange 319 Posted January 16, 2013 It'll get better. With solids, try to get them in. A hard boiled egg, tuna, soft cheese, thin slices of lean deli meat.< /p> I am 7 weeks down. And I don't drink enough Water either. But I enjoy every little bit of different food I can get my hands on lol Don't get discouraged.
hinportland 83 Posted January 17, 2013 You sound like me including the six weeks and at 24... Are you a low bmier per chance? How's the excersize going? My BMI was 38 on surg day. Exercise is a struggle. Tonight I had a mandatory dinner with our new VP. I was good, only had 3 bites of Salmon and 1 bite of cauliflower, but I'm not going to the gym at 9:00 pm when I have to be up at 5. Doing my best to get it in as often as I can. Work screws me up A LOT! Still positive though. I've never lost more 12 lbs on my own, and I gained it back + 5. Not ready to throw in towel just yet. :-)
iggychic 1,405 Posted January 17, 2013 I have serious regrets Daisy, but even so, I can tell you that at two or three months you will start feeling much better.

I dont have health insurance so I guess I just have to pull thru myself. I can't imagine the courage it took to have the surgery done, and not have health insurance for follow-ups, complications, or concerns. If you made it this far, that courage can surely get you through this too. It does get better. Everyone's pulling for you.

As far as seeing a Dr for follow UPS,have you called any bariatric surgeons in your area and ask them if they will see you? I know mine will,no matter where you had the surgery. And check into support groups, usually held at hospitals, they are great. Godd luck
delta_girl 931 Posted January 17, 2013 My whole first two months were up and down with my emotions and food issues. Though I have not regretted surgery, sometimes I wish I could have more than two bites of fruit because it tastes so delicious and fresh now. There was a point around 8-9 weeks that it got a LOT better pretty fast. I guess that was about the time I could start eating most anything, just not a lot of it. Hopefully you'll push through and have a breakthrough soon that makes you feel better about your choice.

There are always people who have been where you are, and have a story to tell. I'm 2 months out and have had the regrets, just as you have, but then I realize that this is not reversible and is going to make me healthy, whether I like it or not! Good luck and hang in there. My third week I all of a sudden got this wave of regret and depression, I was literally making myself sick and didn't know it. I thought everything was going wrong cause I wasn't eating or drinking always nauseous, then I talked to a group at my church changed me totally ( not saying you have to go to church but find support). After that I got out I forced myself to eat and drink even though I was always on the verge of vomiting. Your mind is a powerful thing, hang in there you won't regret it. Most people I talk to that have had the surgery say it takes a good 6 months to feel totally back to yourself full energy.
bandalyons83 46 Posted January 17, 2013 I felt the same way as you till about 2 full months post op. now I am almost 2 1/2 and very happy. Weight loss is slow but it is no longer a burden. I hope you also have that moment where everything changes and you feel happy about your decision.
misstiffsue 62 Posted January 17, 2013 I was really tired until about 2 months out. I also couldn't stand Water so my doctor and NUT gave me permission to drink Powerade zero - total life saver! Also try to mix up your Protein Drinks to help break up the monotony of drinking them. I like to add Decaf coffee to or blend them with frozen fruit. You will get through this and it will be way worth it.
