What can i eat at 2 weeks?

Recommended Posts

depends on what your doctor's orders include. Mine suggested liquids for 3 weeks following surgery then 3 weeks of soft foods then full solids. I would stick to Soups (strained, no chunks). Be easy with your new little tummy. Congrats!!

Thursday I start soft foods !

Just be careful and remember to eat slow. I still have issues figuring out when I am going to be full. I go from hungry to full very fast.

I'm 2 week in what can I eat?????? Anyone ?

Follow your doctor's orders, in my 'Bariatric Bible' (that's what I call it) from Forest Park Medical Center in Dallas, below is a cut and paste on week 2 & 3.

Dr. Davidson said NOTHING that won't go through a straw. I added sugar free Jello with sugar free cool whip. Just something most won't think about. I hope this helps.

Gastric Sleeve – Weeks 2 and 3

Add cream/blended Soups and drinkable yogurts

NO lumps, bumps, or chunks!

Continue Multivitamin and mineral supplements

Use Protein supplements 1-2x per day (goal 40-60 grams/day)

Oh my, at week 2, I could eat an eighth of a cup at a time. Hardly anything. Just a few tablespoons. I was never hungry, I made myself eat something. I worried more about getting Water in than Protein for the first two or 2.5 weeks. I watched the color in the toilet, I did not want to get dehydrated.

Just yesterday I got the OK to move to mushy foods. I made an omelet with a very small egg, chopped fresh broccoli about 5"diameter, I ate about 1/3. lunch was Soup and I added 2 PCs of potatoes (PCs were about size of a dice). I was full the rest of the afternoon. I had an 8oz of myoplex lite for dinner. To keep up with my liquids I drink herbal tea, Decaf coffee, Water, sugar free popcicles and Jello. But to be honest I want some chips and salsa. I think I need to get back to work.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
