Shaye 6 Posted January 15, 2013 My primary said my bmi is 40. I used and online bmi calculater and it said 39.5. Does that make a huge difference with surgeons and insurance? Im 5'5-5'6 and last weight in dec was 245lbs. No comorbidities either. Please give ur opinion or simular experience!!!
funinthesun00 157 Posted January 15, 2013 For insurance purposes I'd be 5'5" if possible. I am self pay, but from what I hear, it matters.
notmeanymore 629 Posted January 15, 2013 Go with the higher number as far as insurance is concerned. I had to have a 40 or higher to be approved with no comorbidities. But in my case, I had a couple comorbidities anyway but didnt have to worry because I was a 41 anyway.

Ive gained just from sitting at home with my 3yr old. I wish they would just send me my seminar info so i can get this going!!!
