Red597 35 Posted January 15, 2013 Good Afternoon All - I have a "research" question for you...if you had the opportunity to work with a health coach who is a Registered Dietitian and a sleeve patient in order to walk you through the pre-during-and post-op process, would you? JoJo57 63 Posted January 15, 2013 I would do it. I really expected to back out at the last minute - what calmed my fears was a veteran RNY patient who happened to be there as a companion to her friend. Plus, I would love to have a successful post-op person to talk to about food, stalls, etc. Sent from my iPhone using VST
Red597 35 Posted January 15, 2013 Thank you JoJo! I am seriously working on a business plan to do just that, but wanted to test my market first :-). I have had a few people tell me the same thing, adn to be honest, for a while, I felt like a "failure" - being and RD and having to have the surgery. But it was a very dear friend of mine who is also a RNY patient who pointed out that I would be a gret resource. And then my wheels started turning lol... mcalder62 7 Posted January 15, 2013 I absolutely would love that type of resource. The fact that they are degreed with the nutritional information is great but the added bonus is the fact that they have actually had the surgery and know first hand the struggles.
