AliciaA122 24 Posted January 15, 2013 I don't know what's going on. After my release from the hospital things have been ok. I did have occasional vomiting, but I know it was due to eating too quickly. However, this weekend things changed. I have been nauseaous since Sunday around noon and all day Sunday I couldn't keep anything (even water) down. Yesterday I managed Water, the juice of an orange and some crackers. But, still felt nauseaous the entire time. Today I've had two bites of oatmeal and sips of Water. In addition to the nausea I feel almost like there's a ball in my chest. It's very hard to explain this sensation, not fullness, not hunger, just an awkward tightness I can't get rid of. I take prilosec every morning, I don't think this is related to reflux. I'm scared it's some sort of complication. I have a follow-up appointment with the nurse practitioner at my surgeon's office next Thursday, but that seems so far away at this point. Richard Foor 655 Posted January 15, 2013 As others have said call your dr right away. It could be anything, possibly even a stomach flu there have been several of them going around, but even if that is the case you need to see the dr to find out how to deal with it now that your stomach is so different then it used to be. Good luck.
AliciaA122 24 Posted January 15, 2013 Thank you all. Just left a message with the nurse I thought it was a stomach virus initially, but now I'm not sure. I've had that before and this just feels different.
terravue 18 Posted January 15, 2013 best wishes for an easy fix at the doctor's.
Katie713 423 Posted January 15, 2013 Sounds like you may have developed a stricture to me which is a narrowing cause by scar tissue. You'll need to have an endoscopy to have this checked out. If this is the case, they can usually dilate the narrowing using a balloon dialator. Don't let yourself get dehydrated and go without nutrition...if you have to re-book your appointment then insist they see you today if possible!
nanaspez 58 Posted January 22, 2013 Let us know what the doctor said. I also have constant nauseous and some vomiting. I go in next Wed, but the doctor is going to prescribe me another nauseous medication so hopefully this will help. It has been way too long!
AliciaA122 24 Posted January 23, 2013 My nurse practitioner last week said she thought I'd probably had a stomach virus and the vomiting from that made my stomach and esophagus swell causing more vomitting and nausea. I'm definitely feeling a lot better but still get the nausea and vomitting occasionally. I'm going to see her tomorrow so will report back then.

thepick4u 8 Posted January 24, 2013 Just some advice. Don't drink orange juice. Your tummy doesn't need that acid right now. My thoughts wer stomach bug, severe indigestion, or heart problems. I hope it's neither and you're fine by now. Best wishes!

But it's not worth it to me, I stay away

PrincessMiranda 17 Posted January 24, 2013 Do you still have your gallbladder?
AliciaA122 24 Posted January 24, 2013 Thanks for all the concern. My doctor is fine with oranges and juices. I drink diet juices and she has even recommended them. I don't really have any problems with acid or reflux, luckily, unless I forget to take my Prilosec. My gallbladder was removed at the same time as my sleeve surgery. Saw the doc today and she has ordered and endoscopy to check for a stricture. Hopefully will have that in the next 7-10 days.
