When does the mirror reflect a loss?!?

Recommended Posts

So, at what point do you look in the mirror and see the difference in your weightloss? I'm down 75 and still see the same figure. I see the difference in pictures but not the mirror.

Also, for those without hunger like myself, do you still say, "I'm hungry," without realizing it? Lol u do it frequently and my hubby keeps reminding me. :)

I swear, the more weight I lose, the fatter I feel. When I weighed 75 pounds more, I didn't pay attention to my weight and told myself not to care. Now I see every bulge, ripple, and dimple... Now though, I like going shopping more...

I think that looking in the mirror your mind plays tricks on you and makes you see what you fear others are seeing.

Yes I already see that happening. Right now I am comparing sizes. Like, for example, when I had my lap band...I've already lost the extra weight I gained after having it and 20 plus lbs, but I'm in the same size clothes which is disappointing. Also, I see people on here who have lost less than me and started at the same size as me, but are in a smaller size than me. Ehhh its so annoying. But, I am thrilled with my weightloss and wouldn't trade it!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
