I was sleeved on January 14. Starting weight was 277 and weight today is 255. I don't understand what all the "confessions" are about? Why is it not okay to eat a snickers every once in a while or have the fish from McDonald's? I've eaten whatever I want and still lose a pound every day. I'm so confused about why everyone thinks you can NEVER have sugar, caffeine, carbs, or fat again? That's probably why everyone's hair is falling out??! Eat a healthy diet but be realistic! If you want one piece of cheesecake (which u prob can't eat every bite of anyways) then eat one!

I don't understand. You just got sleeved and you are already eating whatever you want? As for the restrictions, some people get dumping when eating sugar plus just like any weight loss effort it's counter productive. The caffeine is a gastric irritant so when your stomach is healing it's even more important to not chance getting an ulcer. As for the fat and carbs, again it's counter productive. It's up to the individual what sort of weight loss you're looking for and how fast you want to lose. As for hair falling out that's more to do with not enough Protein than anything else. We are all aware the sleeve is a tool and we can choose to succeed or fail.

Day 10 post op. down 24 since day after surgery which is pretty cool (some was bloat but a lot fat). Also had first post op yesterday. Interesting how each doc is different. Or diet for first 2 weeks is liquid and like yogurt and cottage cheese/fat free refried beans/soups. Week 3 and 4 we add like eggs and like strained baby food.< /p>

Also what is interesting is I asked how many grams of Protein to focus on. For this clinic, they stated for first month done concern yourself. They want 2 Protein Shakes for meals in the day but said after month 1 we will focus on protein grams.

How are others doing?

My nutritionist warned me about weighing every day. She recommends once weekly, and to be aware of hormonal fluctuations and not them get me down. Ladies, estrogen is stored in fat tissues. As the fat breaks down, the estrogen is released. I'm having the hardest time with mood swings (now 3 weeks out.)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
