update on me: feeling GREAT! however I lost 14 lbs my first week and nothing since. I'm two weeks out and I guess my stall hit early! I'm not down about it though, I read everywhere how these things happen :) Able to drink more now so I've been focusing on getting more Water in and drinking my Protein Shakes. Love my sleeve!

The two week stall early seems to be normal I had it at two weeks and it lasted two weeks then bam it started coming off again. I eat 900-1200 a day with extra fluids. Starving yourself will only tell your body to hold onto fat but giving your body fuel burns it off. I was sleeved 01-09-13 started at 270 day of surgery lost 20 first two weeks nothing for the next two weeks then 6 in my fifth week so far. Mr Dr recommends 1000-1200 with some multigrain bread like half a piece or six multigrain crackers a day and it works for me.

I know every doctor is different, I wish mine recommended a slice of whole grain bread or crackers. I have had 1 whole grain cracker with some pimento cheese twice and no problem.

how about something like this?

My doc says we have to make sure that it's calcium citrate. I agree that those chewables are nasty and am actively looking for an alternative.

167 at start of pre-op diet. 159 on day of surgery, Jan 21. I've been stuck at 151 for over a week. Trying to decrease carbs and increase Protein. I expect slow loss because of my low weight, but I was even hoping to lose at least a pound a week.

Did you try mixing cold Water with your Protein Shake? I bought muscle milk and it was too thick for me at first so I mixed in cold water and it went down really well! Made a big difference on my tummy!

Yes, I have tried everything! Up until recently, I couldn't have anything cold as it made my stomach spasm.

That's soooo awesome...I'm unfortunately in a bit of a stall right now (surgery 1/28/13) but hopefully I have the types of successes you, and others are having!

Today is my two week mark and I'm down 33lbs. I have had a super wonderful recovery until today when I was struck with the dreaded left shoulder pain. This is some of the worst pain I have ever been in. I know it's gas but I literally cannot function. Anyone have any advice??

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
