I am only 12 days post op and still in the soft food stage but I get to eat real foods and it helps.

VSG_me 184 Posted February 5, 2013 I was sleeved on 1/28. One week has gone by already. Can't believe it. I'm down 9lbs since the day of surgery. I'm feeling pretty good. My steri-strips and incisions are itching like crazy! Congrats on your loss! My steri strips are starting to itch too! Must mean we're healing well, but boy would I love to scratch. I hear over and over how common this is and to not freak out. Just keep following your rules and it'll pick back up!! If you're having trouble with the scale- then you should focuse on some NSV's.. Take your measurments and see where you are!!

skinnyandrich 0 Posted February 5, 2013 I'm exactly the same as you Debrry, 14 days today and only 8.8# (I'm in kg so have to convert) and scared this isn't going to work for me. I've been up and down the same kilo over the past 4 days (1kg = 2.2 pounds). It's driving me nuts.

My Protein is about 60g daily and my Water I take is up there too?? Just doesn't seem possible..... I don't understand??? Sometimes you may need to up your calories a little. I'm only 10 pounds down at 2 weeks post surgery. it's a little frustrating and I worry too that I will not have the success that I have prayed for. So I'm only going to weigh once a week now and keep thinking positive. Also I don't know what your starting weight was, but many times those that post an incredible weight loss in a short time were starting at a much higher weight. So you have to look at the % of weight lost, kind of like on The Biggest Loser tv show. If you weight 350 pounds and lost 10% your first month, then that would be 35 pounds, where as if you weighed 225 pounds, then 10% would only. be 22.5 pounds. Generally the more overweight you are, the more you will lose.

Its very frustrating but I keep chugging along. I'm at about 800 calories a day. I just keep thinking of my overall weight loss so far..25lbs in approx 6 weeks. I don't think I've ever lost that in that time frame before so I am successful. I just think my body is WTF is happening to me? Hang in there..you are not the only one
canuckpaisa 61 Posted February 5, 2013 Thank you all for sharing your progress, elation and frustrations. Has been a roller coaster ride here as well. I was sleeved on Jan 16. Weight day of surgery was 333, 339 the day after with bloat, and today I am at 307.5. that put me down: 25.5 from day of operation 48.5 from first Doc appt (Nov 15/12) 65.5 from my max Oct 15/12 Had thought I would lose faster as in the past with weight watchers I did lose quite fast, but now at 42 and with ultra low testosterone - I knew this would be a longer journey. Still trying to be under 300 by my 1 month sleeve-a-versary which would be cool as lightest in 6 years. Psychologically weird with the daily fluctuations but I know myself and I couldn't only weight once a week. My doc said for first month dont be concerned with grams of Protein - just get Water in and eat 6 small meals a day. Averaging about 350 - 450 a day Love to hear updates from other Jan alum

mizzzliza 113 Posted February 5, 2013 hey guys - so its been almost 4 weeks since my surgery (sleeved 1/9)! everything has been going pretty well until this weekend. on saturday i was nauseous for no reason. and now my stomach seems to be extra full all the time and i get nauseous really easily. this has not happened until recently. i haven't really been adding any new foods that could cause this issue' date=' so i'm not sure what's going on. since i felt nauseous, my Water intake was lacking the past 2 days and now today i feel worn out and all around crappy. i'm hoping it is just the lack of water. i was excited to move on to the new stages of food before but now the thought of food just makes me queasy and it is such a hassle to force myself to eat. anyone else like this?!?[/quote'] That sucks you are having troubles. I was sleeved on 1/9 as well and haven't had problems. I even pretty much skipped over the puréed stage and went to solid kinda soft foods and any meat. Hopefully it was just lack of fluids and you are feeling back to normal with increased fluids.
