What did everyone do to get calories when on clear liquids only? Apple juice has been making me sick to my stomach! HELP!

bethers0305 0 Posted January 14, 2013 I'm 6 days out and I am very well hydrated but I also feel hungry and idk if that is just head hunger as my friend who was sleeve says it is.... But everyone is different n I really can't tell. I started all the creamy Soups, applesauce, and yogurt after 48hrs post op. And Protein shakes. Was able to tolerate very well as long as I eat very slow.
mommyradd 115 Posted January 14, 2013 The first two weeks I ate Cream of chicken and added milk because it felt more hearty. broth did not do it for me. My doctor even said I could have a string cheese (if tolerated) as a snack because it has 7 grams of Protein per ounce. The cheese helped me get through the hunger. Popcicles and sugar free Jello did nothing for me, they felt like empty foods in my body, plus no protein so what's the point? I prefer to drink my sugar free fluids and make Snacks protein based. Whatever works for one may not work for another. Best of luck to you.

tinarho 29 Posted January 14, 2013 I couldn't stand Isopure. I was thankful I kept my receipt from GNC so I could a refund. Syntex nectar makes a good lemonade...I know it's so hard.

They've had pizza and tacos in the last two days and I've stayed in the bedroom like I'm being punished! Lol
ibehere10 163 Posted January 14, 2013 Guess I was lucky, I was never hungry in the beginning and had to eat on a schedule . I still don't feel hunger but get a nauseous feeling and then know I need to eat!!

They've had pizza and tacos in the last two days and I've stayed in the bedroom like I'm being punished! Lol My husband puts a guilt trip on me if I don't sit with them while they eat. And his idea of helping out with cooking through this has been getting pizza and things of that nature. I should have moved out for this time frame!
