LauraM5 7 Posted January 20, 2013 Thank you for this encouragement. I can sure use some. I am almost 3 weeks post op. Im having a really hard time today. I want food. Still on liquids though. LauraM5 7 Posted January 20, 2013 Yes! It gets easier!! Go slow on solid foods! I wanted to have soft mushy foods SO bad that the day the dr. said I could I went to lunch with my husband ordered a scrambled egg. Ate two bits and proceeded to throw it up because my stomach wasn't ready to handle it that quickly. Start with one small soft food at a time. Something easy like regular yogurt. Then go to cottage cheese, etc... It got better for me about 6 weeks to where I felt normal and back to myself. Take lots of naps and rest when you can! zoekids 120 Posted January 20, 2013 I am scheduled for the 29th. I fly to San Diego on the 28th. I am getting it down at the OCC in MX. I am both nervous and excited. Since I have a lower BMI, I am only required to do Clear Liquids just 2 days prior, but I am doing a liquid diet this week to kind of get mentally ready for the next phase of my life. Mary[/quote'] I'm scheduled there tomorrow. What's your starting weight? I was told that I have a low BMI but had to do the two week diet which I totally failed at. I'm on Clear Liquids now but the weight isn't coming off. I'm worried that they won't do the surgery.
zoekids 120 Posted January 20, 2013 My weight is 192, with a BMI of 32. They told me that I didn't have to lose weight. I am going to do the Protein shake diet this week. Started today. Well, I just had some Soup too. I will do the clear liquids next weekend. I am not looking forward to that. Good luck, please post your thoughts and experience.
