Has anyone experienced low blood pressure after surgery? My normal used to be about 117/80. Now the last few times the dr has taken it, it's been in the high 90s over high 60s. Both drs are not concerned because I feel great. No weakness or dizziness. I was sleeved 9/17. I also should mention that pressure was always done on an empty stomach. Just curious...

Some people do naturally run a low B/P, being over weight tends to raise your blood pressure so the decrease is probably not an issue as long as your extremities are staying oxygenated and your not dizzy, light headed, or overly weak or tired the Drs will not treat it. That being said with a lower pressure it is even more important to be sure you keep yourself well hydrated because you will be effected quicker by dehydration. Hope this helps, good luck.

Thank you Richard. I figured if my drs aren't worried (and believe me - they are very diligent & on the ball) then I won't worry. Like you said, I always stay hydrated, and really have never had a bad day since surgery. No gas pains, abdominal pain, absolutely nothing. To be honest I was released from the hospital on a Wednesday & probably could've went back to work the next day! You just see that low number & freak a little. It does go up a bit after I've eaten something...thanks again

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
