Hi Kimi, I'm also going through Fremont...when did you start their bariatric program? Who is your surgeon?. My first mandatory class was on 10/27/12 and my surgeon is Dr. Chu she's really nice. Got my psych eval. on 2/5/13, really looking forward to that one.

I'm also going with Dr Chu. She hosted the orientation that I attended late last month (12/24). I liked her personality, and I personally preferred a female surgeon.

Lets see, my i went to the class that you have to attend about the surgery (prior to your doctor referring you) in early December. Met with my PCP a week later to request my referral. I received notification of orientation the following week. Went to orientation on 12/24. Had my consult with Dr Chu, the nutritionist and the Coordinator on 1/3. Had my lab work & EKG done on 1/6. Psych eval in 1/9.

When I met with Dr Chu she gave me my surgery weight #. I have been within two lbs of that number since my psych eval. I have been told that as soon as I reach my weight, I am to go to Kaiser and weigh in to get the number in record and call the weight line with the information. I guess after that its just a matter of them calling me to schedule... I've been told that all of the surgeons are booking about about a month to a month and a half. So I'm thinking surgery will be march... REALLY wanting February... But I don't see that happening... ;)

LUCKY...I still have 23lbs to go Dr. Chu wants me to lose 26lbs. I also stopped smoking in the process, so by the time I saw Dr. Chu (12/19) I was 6wks nonsmoking and this coming Fri will be my 10wks annv nonsmoking :D. Its really difficult this time around to lose this weight, but I know its for the best. Hopefully I can lose most of that 23lbs by my psych eval appt Feb. 5th. I went to the Surgery Orient with Dr. Dennen and he's pretty good also, funny guy. Yea the coordinator told me that to book a surgery date after you've reached goal weight will be about a month or so out. Good luck and you'll lose that 2lbs in no time.

Great job on the smoking!!!! I have never been a smoker, but my husband is and I know he has a constant struggle with trying to kick the habit. Technically I had to lose a total of of 20 lbs for my surgery as well... I just was able to lose a huge part of that very quickly. It's these last two lbs that are killing me!

I did my "flush" last night... I was up for most of the night... Only to discover that I GAINED .2 lbs!!! No loss... But a gain! Who gains wait after a serious of magnesium citrate and dulcalax?!?! Me! I am officially putting my scale away and sticking with my routine if 1200 calories, 64 oz of Water and an hour of cardio a day... I'll weigh again on Monday... I'm seriously tired of stressing over this. I need to learn to deal with stalls in my weight, because I hear it happens post op. ;)

Thank you, before I quit smoking my whole world revolved around my cigs. It didn't matter to me how much I was spending on those cancersticks (what my oldest daughter calls them) lol or what it was doing to my health. To this day I never thought in a million years it was possible for me to quit smoking. The first 2-3wks were hard as heck, but I got through it with help of my hubby and the kids and the Patches of course. Same here I stressed so much on losing weight the last 2 wks I nearly gave up, until I got on here and started reading up on all the different stories and what members have gone through or going through to get to where they're at currently and its reassuring that I'm only human. I try to be positive and stay focused on my mini goals and soon enough I'll be on here spreading the news about my surgery date, which I'm patiently awaiting because if it were up to me I would've had the surgery last week :D. Stay positive and those stubborn 2lbs will melt off of you.

I think you'll see Dr Ramezani, but do not worry about a thing! Dr Ramezani was totally cool to talk with, you'll be comfortable talking to him. When I saw him we talked about things going on in my life if I was ready for the surgery, if I had support from family, friends etc... I told him the hard parts of the journey I was having some problems with and he recommended a book to read and to maybe attend"Mindful Eating" classes there that he teaches. Attend support groups and do what you're doing now by talking and asking questions from groups/people online. He'll recommend that also. Just be honest with him tell him if you're having problems and they will help you out.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
