I'm wondering how many calories I should be getting a day this far out. My NUT had no definite answer. I'm a huge stalling and a slow loser. Anyone else this far out with any answer or suggestions?

What are you eating and are you drinking enough Water? Are you exercising? Whenever I have a stall is usually cause I'm eating the wrong foods like to many carbs. Try going back to your pre op diet just the shakes and Jello, Water, broth you know stuff like that.

congrats on having your baby - ooooops i mean being 9 months PO!!

i wish i could see your ticker or profile

then i would know exactly how much weight you've lost??? do you have a lot more weight you want/need to lose - you say you are doing great - so, good enough!!!

stalls, we all know what a bummer they can be - sure you can up the exercise, drinking, calories even - but IMO - the stall might just take its course

one more you'll step on that evil scale and be down 75 lbs ;)

hmmmm, i don't think so ^_^ but its a thought ;)

My NUT (at my 9 month check-op) said i should keep my daily calories between 900-1000 calories - i was at goal.

the truth is i usually do 1000-1200 calories a day, i told her so. - and i'm doing great

BUT - we/you know all NUTS have different thoughts

i am surprised/confused that your NUT didn't specify a certain #??

good luck bud

My dietitian has never had me count calories. I am 7 months post op, but had a band for one year prior. The plan I am to follow is to get 10 servings of Protein each day and then add in fruits and vegetables and limiting carbs. Of course all the other fluids, exercise, etc also apply. My experience on stalls is to first examine if I am doing something that is negatively affecting my journey, like too big of portions, too many treats, activity is not challenging. If this ok then I just keep on going with the knowledge that my body will reward me soon. Good luck. Come back for support.

Proudgranny I have at least 25-30 more to go for goal. I'm working out and drinking more than enough Water. My nut told me I'm was eating enough carbs and to much Protein. Guess I'll just keep going and see where I end up. And I'll try logging in from a computer to try and feelin more info dont see that on my iPad or iPhone

I have a bit more of a ways togo so I am sticking to the post op Golden Ratio until I get to goal - I stall about every three months or so for a hard month then the scale starts lighting up with losses again.

I do my best to do 600-800 cals a day, 80+ g of Protein, -40 g or less of carbs, 64+ oz. of liquid, all my vitamins/supplements and as much activity as i can get in. I think my greatest stall generator is when I do not manage to get all my liquid in - this has always been an issue - even before surgery, so I keep working on it. I track everything.

If carbs inch up, water/liquids goes down, so does my progress downward on the scale - it does eventually move again.

After the first - I have been being pretty strict - a typical day looks like this:

Breakfast: Premier Protein shake (chocolate 160cal, 30p. 5 carb, 3 fat) or Starbuck's 2 pump vanilla latte ( i count it for its full value, even if its got half the syrup) 250cal, 12p, 39carb, 6 fat

Lunch: Premier Protein Shake

Snack: Lite string cheese (60cal, 8p, -1carb, 2.5 fat)

Dinner: 3 oz. chicken breast (142 cal, 27p, 0carb, 3fat), 1/2 c. veggies or leafy greens (nutrition varies)

I may add another string cheese, bonbel, or bariatric or regular hot cocoa in there depending how I feel. I still like the Protein chicken Soup because I love Hot drinks and I am getting more liquidy things in :)

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
