SimplyFAB 83 Posted January 12, 2013 Any recommendations on what to drink/eat the first week after surgery?
funinthesun00 157 Posted January 12, 2013 Follow your doctor's guidelines. My doc requires Clear Liquids only the first week. I will be having chicken broth, Jello, Popsicles, lots of Water, Isopure, etc. Again, your doc should have given you a post op nutritional guide to follow. SimplyFAB 83 Posted January 13, 2013 I went grocery shopping today to get ready for my first week post op. I bought crystal light packets, sugar free Jello, and broth. I'm excited yet nervous! And I've been having a hard time with my pre op liquid diet :/

SimplyFAB 83 Posted January 13, 2013 What problems have you been having with your pre op diet? Just curious since I will be starting that soon! My liquid diet consists on drinking 6 slim fast shakes per day. I've been starving and getting really bad headaches. I started 3 days ago and I've cheated everyday. I went from eating over 2000 calories per day to drinking only liquids. It's just been a difficult mental game.

And it is all liquid Proteins for a week or so... Getting through the first 3-5 days is the key. You body has to adjust and it will. Drink hot tea when you feel a headache. have a glass or real cold Water when your feeling a little hungry. Drink it slow... You can do it. Post surgical success depends on your pre surgical planning... You got this!!
