Can you explain what a plication over a sleeve is and why it was done?

I've never heard of this...

Hiya.

I'm sorry this has happened. I have no idea what the solution is. I'm a detective with the police in Australia. I'm also an on call Negotiator. I unfortunately at times speak with people at pretty dark times in their lives because they've stopped taking their meds. I'm sure you're under a huge amount of pressure. Please don't change or stop taking your medication without speaking with your psychiatrist.

I'm sure there's a solution. Maybe get your weight loss professionals speaking with the mental heath professionals to come up with a solution - that's what we pay them for! :)

All the best,

Deano

I thinkmtheyndomtndo plication s in the US. Basically they make a sleeve like stomach by folding the stomach like an accordion and twitch through the stomach.

Ok,so you had the sleeve plication surgery not the vertical sleeve gastrectomy where they remove 80% of your stomach?

The two surgeries are very different and the outcome of them often as well. With the VSG our stomachs are very very tiny and our capacity very small. The calorie intake is less than 800 per day.

What is yours?Have you cut your carbs?

Some meds do make it harder to lose but on 800 calories any one should lose at least some weight.Low carbing also helps the weight loss tremendously.

Sorry I cant be of more help. But good luck and I hope you will start losing soon.

Some people are just slow losers, but we can't really label you as that unless you tell us how far out you are and how much you have lost so far.

Is it possible you are just in a stall?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
