alw1981 2 Posted January 12, 2013 I haven't eaten meat (other than seafood) in 4 years. I was sleeved on January 7th. I'm on whole liquids now. I'm concerned that I will need to start eating meat again to get enough Protein, but I think the taste and texture will gross me out. Anyone else have to convert back to omnivore after VSG? Or is anyone successfully getting enough protein without meat?
*Dean* 1,594 Posted January 12, 2013 I eat much more seafood post op than I did pre op. Some chicken. Red meat doesn't do it for me anymore. Having said that I cooked some baby back pork ribs today for friends for lunch. 6 hours smoked on hickory low and slow. Normally I would have eaten a full rack (I know!). Today I had one rib. I love my sleeve. You'll be fine. Fish, legumes, eggs are great sources of Protein. Good luck, Deano
