I put them in my shakes. I have a recipe for coconut mango pudding with chia seeds, haven't tried it yet but seems yummy!

I just like to soak them in Water for several hours, add a splash of flavour, and drink.

Apparently, according to several members of my family, that just makes me plain weird ;)

What are they and what do they do?

They are the seeds of the chia plant. Remember the "chia pet"?

They are considered a superfood and are very high in antioxidants. However their primary purpose for us is to control Constipation. They absorb Water & retain it all the way through the digestive track. And they are high Fiber.

What is the botanical name for chia seeds? I have something called BenVia Gold which is salvia hispanica. Could this be the same thing?
