I ve heard that a lot maybe if you can tell is what type of band you have ( C.C. capacity and how many c.c. you got on the band right now), and how many fill you have had.:rolleyes

I agree, that your weightloss does appear to be a bit slower, with the band being designed for us to lose between 1-2 pounds per week. However, you have not provided near enough information for us to be able to help you.

  • When was your last fill?
  • How big is your band?
  • How much fill do you currently have?
  • What types of meal plans are you following?
  • Do you monitor your calories/carbs?
  • Are you exercising?
  • Are you making healthier food choices or are you still eating junk?
  • Are you following the bandster rules?

If you can answer some of these questions for us, and maybe include an example of what your normally eat in a day, I am sure many of us will be willing to try and help you. Have you discussed your slow loss with your doctor or nutritionist?

Not sure of what kind of help I can offer...I do have some questions... maybe if you can answer those, we can go from there!

1. Do you eat a healthy diet?

2. Do you have other health issues?

3. Do you do any exercise?

4. What does your Dr. say about the lack of weight loss?

5. You say you went 8 weeks between fills, but do you have ANY restriction yet at all?

6. If you have no restriction, is it possible to get another fill, or is it not enough elapsed time between them yet?

and

7. What type of pre-op diet did you do that obviously DID work for you?

Maybe if you answer these, some of us can throw ideas around and see if we can help you!

I hope so!

Kat

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
