Ok so I had my sleeve on 12/31/12 and the first week I lost 9 pounds but the 2nd week I've put a pound back on and stayed there. I'm starting to freak myself out thinking I'm not gonna loose anymore weight and I'm gonna have done all this for nothing. Is this normal? I do have a hard time getting Water in cause I can't stand straight water so I'm hoping maybe I'm retaining water and that's the problem. I would love some feedback!

Everything you've mentioned is perfectly normal, including how your feeling. Stalls are part of the process and you will continue to lose weight. If you search 'stall' on the forum you will see how common it is.

You have to get your Fluid in. Have you tried some diet cordial?

Perfectly normal! The feelings and the stalls in weightloss...it happens with everyone...just put the scale away. I know its hard to do but its much better than the stress you'll have over it.

Yep put the scale away, I weight every 3 weeks and every month I lose 10 lbs. in December I decided to freak out and worry, I weighed myself everyday for 2 weeks, not a bit of weight loss, not a bit!!! I put the scale in the closet, continued to eat correctly and exercise and on January 1st another 10 lb's gone.

During the month while I am not weighing myself my clothes continue to get bigger and we eat so little it just happens.

The same will happen for you & yes, I felt like you my first few weeks. This is going to be so fun for you as you start to shrink.

What is a stall? How long does it last and how do I break it? A stall is a point at which the scale stops moving for a period of time. The length of the stall varies from a few days to a few weeks and sometimes a few months. Non VSG’ers typically call it a plateau. Stalls are perfectly normal and to be expected. As we lose weight so dramatically, our bodies need time to catch up physically - this typically happens during a stall. While the scale may not be moving, you may notice an increase in compliments. This is because while the number on the scale isn’t getting any smaller, you are physically getting smaller. There are many tips and tricks for breaking a stall (increase your fluids and Protein, increase your activity, up your calories…) but the reality is it will break on its own.

I am three and half weeks out and have had 2 stalls already. Rather than panicking, I tend to welcome them as I understand their purpose. I think of it this way: Only you can see the progress on the scale as the numbers drop. Others can see the progress of your body changing that comes from a stall. It has it's perks.

Good luck.
