George Bush: Worst American president in history

Recommended Posts

I should probably rephrase what I said. Some modern Presidents may have started out as part of the "little people," but once they get to a certain point, they are no longer "one of us." I truly believe that almost anyone who aspires to be President and can actually succeed isn't truly one of the people. Of course, there will be exceptions to the rule. Occasionally, a politician surfaces who is truly looking out for our best interests, but I think it is rare. I personally think that wealth and empathy for fellow citizens generally don't go hand in hand. And unfortunately, it is impossible for someone who isn't wealthy (whether that wealth is self-made or inherited) to be elected President.

laurend: If we knew what all went on behind the scenes in politics, we'd probably have to be treated for shock. We know a lot, but not even close to how things are really done in Washington. When I was a legislative aide in Virginia, I was young and involved in politics a little (worked for the Attorney General, worked on campaigns, etc.) but once I was able to see the bargaining and power struggles behind the scenes, I became very disgusted and for a while didn't want to even vote. But as someone said earlier, it's a system that we have and we have to work with it or change it.

Yeah, that's what I am talking about. Anyone who is successful in politics has basically bargained their soul away. It is all about getting reelected and raising money. They aren't looking out for us anymore, they are looking out for what's best for them.

It's true. You know there is one fellow who I believe is a true humanitarian and he's really only become one since he was no longer president. That is Jimmy Carter. Don't get me wrong, he is still influenced by people with power, but I think he has a good heart and that he does care about Americans, especially those with small voices.

I also think that Truman was someone who cared. For all the good it did him.

Smart AND good looking? Obviously not presidential material. What was he thinking?

And he plays the sax....I'd a done him but I would have wanted a reverse BJ. This is only because Green is a very, very lazy grrl. :heh:

It is my impression that Jimmy Carter is a fine, fine human being.

But not sexy. Not sexy at ALL. Very humble, though. He still works on Habitat for Humanity houses - real work....with his own two hands. Even when there are no photographers around.

Yep. Carter may not have been the best President in our history, but I think he has become a wonderful human being, especially in comparison to Bush.

It's hard to run for office, or even hold public office, without some source of outside income. Bill Clinton couldn't have gotten elected dog catcher if Hillary hadn't worked and supported the family financially.

She worked her way up to partner in the most prestigious law firm in Hot Springs, and that's where their rent money came from for a long time. They literally moved their belongings into the governor's mansion in the back of a pickup truck after his first successful bid for governor.

By the way, did anyone else know that in college, Hillary was one of the "Goldwater Girls"?

Green! Who you trying to kid? Lazy...? Nope me thinks it's a different thing that motivates your "reverse" thought process. And babycakes I'm with you!

Jimmy also has a team that goes to other countries and they monitor elections. Like I said once earlier, too bad he didn't set up shop here for the last two presidential elections.

Yep Hillary was actively for Goldwater. Can you just imagine Hillary a "Goldwater Girl"? I'm beginning to think that she never really got that out of her system.

Yes, I did. I watched the HBO documentary about Goldwater last year. I was also Goldwater support, but was only 19 yrs, 6.5 months when he ran for president and 21 was the minimum voting age. I would have voted for him.

Green, at least you wouldn't have actually been having "sex" with him (according to his definition).

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
