Wow....that's some irony right there.

Classic. I put this link on another thread but it bears repeating:

That's the kind of stuff I miss from Howard now that he's not on radio anymore.

When it comes to syndicated radio entertainment, there's nothing better than The Bob and Tom Show. I listen to it on my way home from work every morning.

Hilarious! This is why I say a test should be required before you are allowed to vote. You have to take a test for everything else, why is it so wrong to require it of you if you are voting for the most powerful position in the country, if not the world?

I've haven't heard them but I used to listen to Phil Hendrie (sp) he was so funny especially when he'd do the female characters. He would have these pretend people on the show, he did all the voices. Once he had a couple pretending they were parents who allowed their 13 year olds to have alcohol parties. It was really funny! Have you ever listened to him? I haven't heard him in a few years though but he was the greatest!:D

Amen! I've said that for years as well. A simple test on basic knowledge of American politics should be required. It's scary how incredibly ignorant some people are.

Well, pardon me if I don't read through 92 pages covering 2 years of posting...

The question: Is GWB the worst ever? Who knows. I don't believe we can sit this close in time and say. Ask again in 50 years.

Certainly he has not done a good job. His actions have taken some bad situations (World Trade Center, Katrina) and made them worse.

By taking FEMA and putting it under the department of Homeland Security, he took a bad local government in New Orleans and let Katrina become a national issue... and then didn't do anything to fix it even three years later.

By going to war with Iraq so as to find a terrorist in Afghanistan, he proved he doesn't know geography or military tactics.

So yes, I believe he is a bad president.

But to say the worst ever? Jimmy Carter's lack of any knowledge on domestic issues? Richard Nixon, who could have been great except for corruption? Certainly there are others before my lifetime.

Only time will tell.

Best president ever... William Henry Harrison. By dying only a month after taking office, he did nothing, but will be well remembered for the great slogan "Tippecanoe and Tyler Too!"

Thank you. I'm honored.

Don't know of any relatives in Oklahoma, but then again, Goad is such a small name that it can hardly go around more than one family.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
