I just have a couple of questions... 1 has anyone had blurry vision close up after surgery? 2 is anyone's sites on their stomach very sore on the inside (I have one on the right side under my breast that it burns on the inside). I was told this is the one he did the most work out of. I have not heard anyone talk about this on here. Other than these concerns I can't believe I can get so full on so little. Oh.... One more thing today I am down to the weight I was the morning i went to the hospital at. When does the scale start going down? I have a BMi of 36 and I know I will come off slower just looking for some input.

The best advice I can give you is...do not worry. i have read on here of different incision pains and they all eventually go away. I wouldn't worry about the blurry vision either but you could call your doc and ask him to calm your nerves. The scale WILL go down. I know at several different times after surgery I and almost everyone else on here worries about the weight dropping. IT WILL as long as you are true to yourself and remain honest to your diet. That doesn't mean you have to be perfect either. Just do your best and if your diet falls off the wagon...pick yourself back up and get right back on it. Good luck on your journey!

My surgery was three days ago as well. I too am having pulling and it is very sore on the far left side. My surgeon said that where the stomach came out. I had my gall bladder taken too, but no pain or soreness on that side. Some of the meds they give in the hospital can couse blurry vision. I haven't noticed it since I've been home. Good luck to you :)

I'm 2 days post op & have the same exact pain, plus back pain :( blurry vision could be a reaction to your pain meds.

Please tell me about the pain, that incision that's under your right .......breast that you are speaking of is where they did the most work and pulled your stomach from,my surgery was on the 7th and that area is killing me,it has a burning and hot sensation off and on,seems like it's pulling and just plain uncomfortable. Question...When you lay down do you feel this sensation like gas is on your chest or that something is going to come up? I tried sitting up after I eat about an hour or so but it still happen to me.

I was sleeved on 1/10 and last night was my first night sleeping at home and it was horrible. I woke up three times because of nausea. I was dry heaving and it was so painful. I drank Water to feel better but that made me feel worse. I took the nausea tablet three times within 12hour span. I just feel the only way I am ok is if I'm asleep. I am afraid to drink any water today and feel sick. Will this go away??? What have I done...:(

Wow... I hope that passes. I have read that on hear but I have not experienced that. Try to drink little sips you don't want to go back to the hospital. Hang in there it will get better. Think of the big pic...

@ anume that stabbing burning feeling is what I feel. I really hurts getting up and down or in and out of bed. I don't have that gassy feeling in my chest though. Good luck to you guys. I am proud to say I am off insulin for 2 days now and I was on an insulin pump. I am so excited. Lets keep our eyes on the prize.:-)

The beginning is a struggle. Keep Water by your side and sip sip sip....some sips I just wet my lips. It's lots of work in the beginning...to heal our poor stomaches from being surgically cut and stapled.

The good news is this is temporary...its not what your life will entail...this is just the time we have to spend healing our bodies.

Do the very best you can for your body to heal and you will be on the road to feeling good.

Congrats everyone!!!

You ladies are right. I can't assume this discomfort will be forever. I am feeling better already just from bed rest. I'm scared to drink but I sip Water anyway. It's remarkable how I am not hungry at all. That is the good news. I am from Long Beach CA and got sleeved at Kaiser in Southbay. Where are all you ladies at in your journey?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
