Ok, so I am not sure about everyone else, and it could be that this is more geared towards the fact that I had a hiatel repair as well as the sleeve, but every time I drink or eat anything my stomach gurgles so loudly. It actually feels like an hour glass is now my route to my stomach. My daughter was laying next to me in bed, she is 12 and we were watching TV and she looked at me and said, :o OMG was that your stomach! LOL It doesn't hurt but it is annoying! I seriously hope that this is just due to swelling since I am 2 weeks out from surgery. Does anyone else experience this?

Yup - mine does this all the time too. Sleeved 12/20/12. Doesn't bother me....just reminds me everything is working!

I am 2 days post op and my stomach gargles after each sip. except mine sort of hurts. It almost feels like the gargle is going up my esophogus. It was so bad last night that I threw up. please tell me it will get better.

Mine does too! Sometimes I can halfway belch and it helps. I can tell that my stomach is trying to work between the sounds and the pain

Yes, at first it is comically loud, it settles down after a bit (SOME). I'm over 2 years out and when empty my stomach still gurgles loudly, not quite loud enough for others to hear but I do AND feel it as well.

Perfectly normal, I suspect that it's like you suggest, everything getting funneled into that narrow space.

I find it funny, actually. Between me and my mom (gastric bypass 12 yrs out) Christmas break was hilarious! My dad just rolled his eyes.

Just curious, of those of you that are having the gurgles, how many are taking some sort of PPI? Sort of doing my own survey....

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
