Bea - I love my bones too! I know that sounds silly, but I love my collar bone, wrists, ankles and hips...starting to feel some rib bones too. I'm down to a 14 - I can't do the "full cross/hook" yet, but am counting the days!

Hah glad this was bumped yet again, I got my update on it!

At size 18 I was able to easily cross left leg over right no matter what chair I was in.

At size 14 I can cross either leg, anywhere.. even sittin on the edge of a counter, etc. Wooflippinhoo!!

I put 22 because I always cross my legs. But I realized I do it "man style" so I can still do that pretty darn fat! Can I change my vote?

I became comfortable doing it for an extended period at 16. but upper sizes could still cross for short periods. Now in a size 10 they are more comfortable crossed than not. :0)

I haven't been able to cross my legs in so long. When wearing a dress or skirt I usually bring a scarf to tuck under my knees to hold them together lol

At 14, I can do the cross quite comfortably/effortlessly, and the foot is notsticking out. However, I cannot yet do the 'hook' - maybe in another 1 or 2 sizes.

Have to smile at the "bone" comments ~

As I begin to trim down, I love when I start noticing and feeling that "long, lean" look - specifically in my arms - wrists and fingers look like a "normal" size person.

Cannot comfortably cross legs yet but looking forward to it - along with the Indian style sitting. For years I have stayed away from getting down on the ground simply because it is too difficult to get back up.

But I do love that chairs are not feeling tight and uncomfortable as much anymore. It keeps me going!!

It has been so long since I have crossed my legs. I stopped wearing dresses on a regular basis because I could not longer cross my legs. I am already short (I have been claiming 5 foot 4 for years but my surgeon's office burst my bubble on that. I am now officially 5 foot 1 1/2) so I couldn't really cross them gracefully even slim. Now I can't even cross them like a man comfortably. Such is life. I will be glad when I can do that. Sigh.

Jachut - I wish I could hook...I do cross my right leg a lot easier than my left though. I wonder if they are disproportionate? I haven't measured them...or if it is just the right brain/left brain - strength thing.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
