I was a size 14 when I first could cross my legs. I did it without noticing and I looked down and started to cry. I haven't been able to do that in a long time!

As I sit here at the computer desk in my size 16s my legs are crossed. Who would have thought it would be a big deal? I always show it off to my friends. "Hey, guys check this out! See, my legs are crossed. Cool right?" :nervous They thinkg I'm an idiot!

Thin people totally don't get how big of a deal this is to us. I started at 18/20 and am now 14/16 (3 months from surgery). I can comfortably cross my legs now. One direction is more comfortable than the other, though. I try to remember not to sit too long like that because it really isn't the best way to sit for circulation and stuff, but when I am somewhere that I have to sit and my legs can be seen, it's really cool to be able to cross them in a ladylike way!

Truly one of my first big NSV's.

This is a fun conversation. I'm a 16 and days of crossing my legs comfortably are closer every Sunday when I wear a dress to church, but, my foot hits the back of the chair in front of me. I'm waiting for it to swing comfortably towards the floor. I thought I was the only one that thought of these crazy things.

I was a size 14/16 last year and could cross my legs uncomfortably, and now I am a 20 and don't even bother. It bothers me a lot that about 5 months ago I could if i had to. now i feel like a man in a dress. Isn't this board great! I could never ever admit that to others. I have a hard time admitting it to myself.

I can't remember the last time I was able to comfortably cross my legs like a woman. I always cross them like a man does because my belly and thighs get in the way if I try it the other way. I can do it, but my legs start to hurt after a couple minutes from the strain of trying to hold them together.

Seriously, I've read this on Weight Loss Surgery websites for years - but don't get it.

Even though I was obese, I never was unable to cross my legs so I have no idea of at what point it becomes impossible. Of course I'm really tall and had really long, thick legs. So even when I was obese, maybe I was good at hauling all that flab and just moved them around really well.

Interesting thread.

I think Fauxnaif and NewSho really hit upon it. Weight isn't the only factor, height has something to do with it too.

I am in the middle.... :) I use to be able to cross them at a larger size then others who were much shorter then me, and while "fluffy" wearing a smaller size then me. However, at the size I am now, I couldn't do it. At the same time my bestfriend, who has me by about 5 in. in height, yet wears the same size as I do, can.

As for me, I can't wait until I can comfortably cross my legs (without them sticking a mile high) again, too!

This is definately a goal for me too. I fantasize about wearing a pretty skirt with tall high heel boots and being able to sexily cross my legs... Being vertically challenged, I have a ways to go...

I tend to think that flexability plays a role as well. I mean of course when you have rolls in the way...flexible or not there will be things you can not do. I can cross my legs but I can not double cross them anymore and that I am looking forward to. Well that and Yoga Poses!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
