Nicolanz 1,484 Posted January 10, 2013 I learned in my nutrition class that fat cells shrink when you lose weight they don't go away. Fat cells don't like to be starved so when you lose weight, a hormone in the fat cells (could be leptin, I forgot) sends signals to the brain to eat more! Your appetite increases. This is why its especially hard for those who have been overweight as a child into adulthood to lose the weight and keep it off. Its scary! Good article. Thanks!
