I think at month 5- I might be able to do 3-4oz at a time. Sipping throughout your day is key. I apologize- can't help with the chest pains but if I had to guess- sounds like gas pains. But that is always best to check with the Dr.! That's why they get the big bucks!!!!
jrw2scw 4 Posted January 10, 2013 I found that by using a very small straw to be a huge benefit when trying to drink "propel" Water works best.. I was sleeved 7 days ago and am doing well with getting fluids after going to the Straw...I also find warm Tea to be refreshing as well...Good Luck!!
Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted January 10, 2013 I agree that 8 ozs is double the amt your new tummy can hold. Perhaps this is why you're getting the pain? Always ask the dr though :-)
MOMW 71 Posted January 10, 2013 I think what your are experiencing is the release of the CO2 gas from your surgery. I found that a heating pad helped and so did getting up and walking. I also seen someone that suggested shoulder rolls. As far as your Fluid intake, that will come. Just do what you can. Your stomach is going through a lot right now. I would though not suggest using a straw. You will get a lot of extra air. My bariatric team, said no straws at all.
