sid_n_reagans_mommy 114 Posted January 10, 2013 Hi all. I just had my plastics this past tues (tummy tuck, breast aug w/ implants, mini brachioplasty). The dr said he removed 7 lbs!! I haven't weighed the last few days because I've been so far out of it! But hopefully it will put me right around 125 lbs! this surgery has been the hardest to recover from. Up until 90 mins ago, I haven't been able to keep anything down, which includes pain meds, antibiotics, and the Valium. Hoping it gets better soon! Can't wait to see my results! 2 Dark Ranger and Frank69 reacted to this

NerdyMHC 76 Posted January 10, 2013 That's awesome! I am hoping everything shrinks up well, but I know I probably will end up having plastics, too. Are you in the United States, Sid_and_Reagans_Mommy? If so, did you use insurance for the plastics?

Boofster 159 Posted January 10, 2013 Hope you are feeling better soon! Can't wait to see pics. I will probably need plastics on the belly (a tuck would be nice) but it won't be covered and out of pocket isn't possible. When the insurance company approved the VSG, they sent me a letter saying hey, we approve your surgery and good for you for taking this step. The next paragraph was, don't even think about getting plastics because it's not covered. LOL!! Anyway, good on ya! Feel better soon.

Catherine Shinn Habhab 97 Posted January 10, 2013 I don't live in the states, but was also told that insurance wouldn't cover plastics. However, a friend of mine (an ICU nurse) gave me a suggestion to plea to the insurance company. She says that the baggy skin can lead to infections, not being able to keep the folds clean and dry easily. I'm going to use this excuse when the time comes

When the remove the excess skin you often lose your belly button. Or at least this is what the plastic surgeon told me. But I thought I'd at least ask

sid_n_reagans_mommy 114 Posted January 10, 2013 Thank you all for the well wishes! I will definitely post pics once I begin healing up. My insurance doesn't cover plastics, so this is out of pocket. I went to a surgeon that works in the northern Virginia, Maryland, and DC area. They did give me plenty of pain meds, and this morning was the first time I was able to keep then down, so I think they are helping a lot now! 1 Dark Ranger reacted to this
Dark Ranger 12 Posted January 10, 2013 Glad the pain meds are working. I can't imagine going through that much work without them.
