I still have a little over a week to go but am pretty calm. If you are like me you did a

lot of research and have given it a lot of thought and are confident in your decision so I

hope I am like you and am not to nervous.

I was calm until I was on the way to the hospital. I wanted a sedative in the car.

I was sleeved on Nov 12 and I was so calm. I wasn't the slightest bit nervous/scared/anxious. I got one little butterfly of excitement when the surgery team walked into my room to roll me to surgery. My mom and MIL were balls of nerves. I gave everyone a hug and kiss before we left for the OR (mom, MIL, husband, uncle, cousin and niece). They all left the room so the team could navigate the stretcher out to the hall and when we got out of the room, my mom was crying a little. She paid for my surgery and I leaned up to hug and kiss her again and told her thank you for my new life. She really started to cry then and I teared up a little. I was laughing and joking all the way to the OR. That is the last thing I remember!!!

I'm tomorrow morning as well..7:30 AM. I was nervous earlier today until I had to take the kids to my in laws to watch for the next few days. Since I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am, figured it was better to just have them stay there starting tonight so they don't have to get up so early. Now, I'm just sad and missing them. Once I wake up in the morning I'm sure all the anxiety will start hitting again. Good luck tomorrow! We're going to do great!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
