I like them but I have a friend who doesn't. To make it taste better she uses chocolate flavor, adds ice when she mixes and a splash of milk with the Water. Her version does taste pretty good to me.

I hated them too until I tweaked them. For vanilla, I add frozen strawberries, vanilla extract, stevia(sweetener), almond milk, ice and blend. For chocolate add 1/2 banana, vanila extract, almond milk, sweetener, ice and blend. They are a tasty Breakfast for me now. Before that, I could barely get them down. Do they count for your liquid intake? I never asked.

I hate them too. Luckily in the soft food phase I have been able to meet the low end of the target with help from powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken broth flavor. If I could get down the serving size of my meals, I would have no problem...

Protein drinks aren't the best thing I've ever had either, but it isn't forever. I just sucked it up and drank them.

Adding ice in the blender with them helps. I always used just Water with them. Sometimes I would drink a Muscle Milk Light or an EAS Advantage ready made shake. They are convenient.

The Syntrax Nectar Vanilla Bean Torte rocks. I used to add Mio in tangerine/orange for a creamsickle flavor or unsweentened cocoa powder to do chocolate (go light on the cocoa powder if you do this - it's really concentrated). Really good. Also, I find the Atkins Milk Chocolate ready-made shake to be pretty delish. 15 grams Protein and only 1 gram of sugar. 160 cals. Still drink one every day (almost 8 weeks out).

Yes, it does. So does the Cookies and cream. Even with Water as the mix.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
