So I've been so excited to move on puréed foods but having trouble keeping anything down. First off I know that the stuff I've been eating wasn't 100% all that healthy, but I was trying to introduce familiar foods into my diet. There were two instances where I couldn't keep what I ate down. Is there anyone out there who had this problem. I thought the stuff I was eating was too greasy. I know I don't have a leak because there is no fever. I've tried eggs with cheese and ham. Didn't go well and Mac and cheese w/ sausage. Is there anyone who struggled with purée? What can I try without having to keep eating full liquids because I'm tired of Soup.< /p>

Try it without the cheese, maybe you're lactose intolerant since the surgery.

Have you tried cottage cheese? Peanut Butter maybe. Yogurt? Something not so heavy or greasy I'm sure would set better for you. Best wishes!!

I'm on week two of puree and doing good. I have mostly had chicken breast (baked or boiled) and cottage cheese. I incorporated some baked Beans and refried bean in after a week. This week have had tilapia also. All has done good. I try to eat only things that are good sources of protien. I have not tried anything spicy or greasy basically cause I couldn't tolerate them prior to surgery, so don't want to take chances now. As well, I still have a protien shake or two during the day. Am able to get in 60+ on Protein easily.

Make sure the pureed food is not to dry. Add extra liquid.

Swanson's chicken broth is a lifesaver!

I have baby food as a back up but I've been really trying to eat more "adult" foods than just baby foods. Thanks for the suggestions.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
