Lose weight in feet?

Recommended Posts

I have a nice pair running shoes. Since I bought them I have lost 115 pounds. They seem really big now and when I run my feet move around.

Anyone else experience this? When I asked someone if its normal she looked at me like I was crazy.

When I lost weight my feet got smaller, too. Not in terms of length, but overall, yes! I wear birks and used to have them on the last hole and they'd still dent my feet (water retention). Now, I've taken them in 2-3 notches and they feel just fine.

I just experienced this recently! I thought people were crazy. I have wide feet but not fat and always had slim ankles. I'm down 140 and was excited to try to wear heels again because I have SOOO many! However, last week I wanted to wear heels to work and tried on three pairs before I found one that I THOUGHT fit. It sounded like I was wearing flip flops walking down the hallway and looked like a little girl playing dress up. I bought a super cute pair of black booties this weekend, a full size smaller.

Lol....yes, I've had this happen after many mass yo-yo weight losses in the past. The clothes i could handle, but there were always shoes that I wish I could have still worn after the weight loss.

I have had this experience also. Before I gained all the weight I wore between an 8 and 8 1/2 in a shoe. After i gained weight I went up to a size 10 in a shoe. Now I am between and 8 and 9. I just bought new tennis shoes about 6 weeks ago and they getting to big already.

I gained shoe sizes as I gained weight. So happy to have lost a size and half. I am back in my 6.5!

More weight pressing down on your feet will make them wider, but also longer because our arch will flatten out to a small degree. Lose a bunch of weight and the arch could rise, making the foot shorter.

Yep! I'm down 80 lbs and almost a full shoe size. In addition, my pain from plantar fasciitis has just about disappeared. Yay for smaller feet!

Yes, I went from a 9 or 9.5 wide to an 8.5 medium already...and I'm not done losing. It sucks because I had a ton of really nice wide-calf boots that are not only too big in the leg, but in the feet as well. I have about 2 pair of shoes I can wear and no money. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
