I guess technically it counts as mushy, but nutritionally not a real solid choice. Have you looked into the website theworldaccordingtoeggface.com ? It has a ton of really tasty dishes that are high Protein and low fat/low carb. I know for me, Carbs like Mac & cheese was such a trigger, I have a spoonful, and I crave it. Did your nutritionist have any recommendations for that stage?

Pasta takes up room in your tummy without giving you the nutrition you need. Worse yet, it is a carb and calorie bomb; a healthier mac and cheese is still not healthy. My nutritionist requires me to have 60 grams of Protein and limited me to 800 calories a day It doesn't take a lot of food to equal 800 calories and it is important to get those calories from foods that are high in protein. The sleeve helps you eat less but just as important is what you are eating. Because you do not have a nutritionist, I suggest you research bariatric nutrition online and follow some of the bariatric menus/recipes blogs such as theworldaccordingtoeggface which Jerseygirl recommended. The food and nutrition section of this forum is also good.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
