Congrats!! I found there is a forum on this site for this. Check it out. From what I was told it is ok. Your baby will be ok. Don't be afraid. Contact your Ob/Gyn.

I'm sure it will be fine. Just get some good advice early. Congrats!

You'll need to work closely with your doctor, obstetrician, and surgeon's office (bariatric coordinator/nutritionist). Of primary importance will be getting your (and the baby's) nutritional needs met, even though you've been sleeved. I would get in touch with them right away.

I was told not to even think of getting pregnant for 2 years after surgery

that's what "they" say HOWEVER my doctor said it impossible because you become so fertile after surgery. My co-worker had the bypass done and was pregnant and she didn't even know it. They baby was fine. You will just have to be careful as to what you are intaking in your body.

Sara, first off every thing is going to be ok.

Yes it is true that it is best to wait at least a year, preferably 2 after being sleeved to conceive, but you can't change that now.

This is going to be a bit trickier than a traditional pregnancy, but you will be just fine, and so will your baby.

As was pointed out earlier you will need to keep your Obstatrition, Bariatric, and PCP in a close loop. I highly advise including your NUT in that loop. Everybody needs to be on the same page.

I highly recommend seeing a naturalist too, someone that has a lot of experience in cramming tons of nutrients into minimal foods & supplements. I'm sure you are going to be taking some awfull tasting stuff (like blackstrap molasses), but you gotta do what you gotta do now.

I promise you are not the first one this has happened to & you won't be the last. I'd also recommend journaling this experience so that once it is over you'll have it documented when the next person comes along & they're scared about what's to come.

Am I misunderstanding your post OP? You are pregnant two months past surgery or you had the surgery while pregnant and am now 3 months? If you were pregnant when you had the surgery you need to get into an OBGYN ASAP because the anesthesia can damage a fetus badly. I lost a baby that way (I was 12 days pregnant, too early to test even for a hospital). If I'm reading that wrong and you got pregnant after the surgery you still need to get in asap because early out, in the most important time for fetal development you were not giving the fetus proper nutrition. This does not mean it's a tragedy, but you need to check to see if everything is ok (I am sorry but I don't know if it is or not so I'm not going to lie to you about that). Your OBGYN will then help you through this pregnancy so that it's healthy for the fetus. You need to be doing some calorie supplements likely right away because you are too early in to eat properly for a developing baby.

I hope everything is well with you, but you really do need to understand that either way, it's rather urgent that you get to a doctor now.

I had surgery when I was pregnant, didn't know I was pregnant. My 27 year old daughter was born perfect. Take a deep breath, you'll be fine and so will your baby. Your obgyn will be able to help you make a game plan.

I am currently seven months pregnant and I was pregnant when I had the surgery but I did not know. The baby is fine, I look smaller, but the baby is on target with weight and growth. You and your baby will be fine. You will probably continue to loose weight for the next few months, then you will gain a little baby weight for the baby. I lost 25lbs, and have only gained seven back. Spoke to my surgeon and he said I should be fine. They recommend no pregnancy for 2 years post sleeve because they want us to get the maximum weight loss goal, but things happen and we keep living. You will be fine, take your Vitamins, exercise and drink plenty of fluids. Keep up with your doctors and rest. We will get thru it. :)

Hi! I'm 11 weeks post op and 11 weeks pregnant. You will be fine. Not ideal and not the best timing but you will ok. I had my first ultrasound last week and baby is healthy and moving around happily. See your ob as soon as you can.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
