Any seattle sleevers ?

Recommended Posts

I am over on the peninsula' date=' but if you ever want to hang out and chat we could meet up some where in the middle <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I am all about having new friends and a bigger support system. I am 4 weeks out myself (sleeved on March 11th)

Hope your doing great! Let me know if you want to hang out sometime. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

Thanks! And congrats on your sleeve! I would definitely like to get to know you! I am doing well, how about you. How is it being able to eat solids? I really struggle daily with meeting calories, Water and Protein intake.

Hi there -- I'm in Kirkland and was sleeved on 3/7/13 by Dr Landerholm at Puget Sound Surgical Center.

Curious to know if there are any Microsofties on here. If there are' date=' and you’d like to get together for a lunch walk, I’d love to do that. I won’t tell anyone if you won’t…other than my medical staff, only one person in the whole world knows I did this, my sister

.

I haven’t been to any support groups yet, but thinking about going to the next one in Edmunds. Has anyone been? Are they worth going to?[/quote']

I'm not a direct Microsoftie, but I am married to one and I've been on and off there for about 6 years. I'm a stay at home mom right now, so meeting for a lunch walk would work for me. Feel free to send me a private message if you want. I live in Bellevue.

I was a microsofty in the early 1/2 of last decade and end of previous century. Loved the free pop. Did not love the culture so much after 4 years (I know, not a long time). After that 10 years with RR Donnelly and now loving my time with Oracle creating great software.

No, cannot say I do. There are 105,000 employees and each team operates in their own little ecosystem. I will look that name up in the employee directory tomorrow and see how many vertical and horizontal degrees of separation there are from my position.

Hi! This is my first post because I just discovered this website. I'm scheduled for surgery 4/16 with Dr. Landerholm at Evergreen Hospital. I am SCARED TO DEATH and can't seem to function too well, but hopefully as the week goes on, I'll get better.

I live in Mountlake Terrace and would love to get together with anyone who is interested. I'll be going to the monthly group sessions in Edmonds.

I'm so NERVOUS! Any encouraging words would be appreciated.

Hi BabushkaBlue - I was sleeved by Dr Landerholm on 3/7 in the Edmonds clinic. I can say that you are in really good hands. The days before the surgery, I was nervous like you are now. I couldn't sleep a wink the night before. But the morning of, Dr Landerholm came and spoke with me, along with all of the other staff and that really put me at ease. I was in by 1pm, up and walking by about 4pm and home by 7pm. It went so quickly, with no issues at all. It will all be over before you know it and you will be on to your new life. You will do great!

I understand your fear! You will be just fine! I was SO scared for my lapband, but you know what helped me? Reminding myself I HAD to do this in order to get better. Just like if I needed pacemaker, it wasn't really elective surgery in my mind, it was mandatory. Recovery wasn't that bad at all! Enjoy laying around and catching up on bad tv!

I am nervous for my revision but keep reminding yourself this too shall pass.

Good luck and keep us updated.

I think most of us can relate to the sheer terror of anticipating this surgery.

I was afraid of the procedure itselt, but mostly, I was afraid of failing... again.

You are in good hands with Dr Landerholm and I believe if you really take their advice, follow the NUT unstructions (keep portions small - really, that is key!!!) you too can have great success.

I lam forever greatful to the good people at PSSC. They helped me find my new and much happier life - half my former size!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
