Is it safe to drink soy milk a week and a half post-op?

Recommended Posts

I'm about a week and a half post-op from sleeve surgery. Skim milk is seriously starting to make me nauseous...is it safe to drink soy milk?

Also, I feel SO weak. I'm having a hard time eating throughout the day. Everything I put in my mouth, aside from Decaf tea and Water, is making me want to hurl. I'm taking my promethazine to help me out. Has anyone else had that problem? It's like my body would just rather have me drink water than eat anything.

I drank soy with my Protein Powder about a week out, per doctor's orders.

I was also told soy milk or lactose free fat free milk for at least 2 weeks and sometimes longer. Apparently some people are lactose intolerant post op

I had to switch to soy milk shortly after surgery. Milk still upsets my stomach if i have more than 3 or 4 ounces.
