Are you allowed raw veggies? I find chewing on them all day helps out a lot.. Were only a week away! You can do it! :)

So my Surgury date is also Jan 14. But I haven't been so luck. I have given in to my hunger pains more than I would like to have. Being a flight attendant on long haul flights with nothing to do and Migraines because I couldn't eat. Really wasn't good for the altitude inflight. I'm feeling so bad now but now I'm taking it one day at a time. I wish I could have taken off for the 2 week pre- op diet. But just finished my EGD today and I'm super exciter????????????????

I was a flight attendant also, quite a few years and children back!! I sooooo understand how you're feeling. Nothing to do, galley full of junk and a belly screaming at you! I gained weight flying too.

Take some raw veggies and rice vinegar ( maybe ask doc for something in case security won't let it through!) I put cucumbers in a zip loc and throw vinegar on them and munch like they were potato chips! I buy carrot chips and baby carrots too, the already cut "chip" ones are easiest.

I'm sorry you're having a hard time. Hang in there. We only have few days to go!!

Good luck

Hang in there.

I have Migraines too. But they have improved with more water! I admire you!

In being a flight attendant and soon to be sleeved too. Because I have never flown by my self(without my DH).

A goal I hope to achieve!

You are already Successful

You can do it!

Good luck

I commend you for going this long. You did an awesome job. It's ok to mess up, don't beat yourself up about it. Tomorrows a new day & then the next is your Surgury just make sure you stay on track tomorrow. Good luck.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
