ploveda1 20 Posted January 7, 2013 Where did everyone stay if they arrived the night before their surgery? What hotels?
AmandaRaeLeo 2,146 Posted January 7, 2013 I'm staying an extra night in San Diego postop. I'm looking at the Days Inn ad they are moderately priced and have a free airport shuttle. Amanda Rae
C_TimesThree 64 Posted January 7, 2013 I always bid in rooms using Priceline, I've gotten $250-300 a night hotels for $75-100 before!
5DogMa 62 Posted January 7, 2013 The night before is usually covered in the package price unless you're doing something different. We got 1 night before surgery at the hotel, 2 days in hospital and then 2 more days in hotel.

julielle 199 Posted January 8, 2013 We stayed at the Holiday Inn Bayside, the rooms were very comfortable, the price was good, the restaurant on site had a good tortilla Soup broth (I had to ask them to strain it). Oh and free shuttle to the airport, it's only 1 mile from the airport so it's quick.
Speedbump 38 Posted January 8, 2013 I used Priceline on both my trips to San Diego, both pre surgery and For my check up visit. I got the Rancho Bernardo Doubletre (Pre surgery) for $70 I got the Westin Gaslamp (VERY NICE) for $60 I got the Manchester Grand Hyatt for $85 I used the super shuttle on the first trip to and from the airport, but used Taxi service on the check up visit. The downtown hotels are about $10 for 2 people in a cab, versus $18 for the Super Shuttle.
Shergirl 18 Posted January 8, 2013 I live and work in San Diego Co and have a few suggestions. Stay close to the airport and don't go farther south of the downtown area along 1-5. Some of those areas are pretty dicey. There are also some good hotels that are east on I-8 that are pretty safe. If you have time, drive across the big blue bridge to Coronado or go downtown along the harbor. Those are both nice places to take a stroll. Good Luck !
