Ugh throwing up constantly sick

Recommended Posts

I am almost 4 weeks out and about half the time I eat I throw up and the other half I feel so sick to my tummy. I have been a major u know what since surgery. The physical part was easy the losing one of my best friends not so easy. I've been so emotion and weepy and crazy mean to my family. I'm regretting this decision lately as I just want to crawl in bed and not get out!

Hang in there. It's very emotional to go through the physical changes, but remember that your stomach produces a harmony, so it's normal to feel a little psychotic lol

I agree peace hang in there I am in my second week and very excited about the wl but we are human.... This is most definitely a major life changer and now that we dont have food to fall on we have to learn how to cope with life challenges/changes.... If you havent maybe try to start attending support groups in your area. Best of luck and may you continue to heal from your grief. hugs

What are you eating that you are throwing up all the time? This is not good. If you are on pureed stage make sure you are pureing your food, take very small bites, eat slowly and measure your food. Good foods at this stage are fish, tuna, cottage cheese, eggs, chili, yogurt, cream Soups. Best wishes.

You need proper nutrition. Don't avoid following up on these symptoms as they are not normal. You can end up really dehydrated and lacking your basic nutrients, you need Protein to heal properly, and you need Vitamins too. Just do it.

Call your doc, you really shouldn't be throwing up like that. You need nutrition to heal and get into a better state. I am sorry you lost your friend, sad.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
