What did you lose your 1st month?

Recommended Posts

Hello all! :) I know everyone is different, but I'm just trying to find what an average weight loss is for the first month post-op. If you could post how much you had lost exactly 1 month from your surgery I would appreciate it. I am 4 weeks post-op tomorrow & want to know how I measure up. Thanks! :)

Your in a stall. We all hit them. Adding more food. Make sure your drinking enough and are getting your Protein. It will restart your losing again. I know it's frustrating. Mine lasted about 2 and a half weeks.

Well I am only 11 days post op and have lost 23 lbs. I am not sure if this is too fast or not, I have my follow up appointment on Tuesday so I guess I wil find out then.

If I remember, you lost a whole bunch up front. You're body is just catching up now.

I was sleeved the same day as you, and according to my unofficial weigh in this morning I'm down 16lbs from my surgery weight. 32lbs including pre-op diet. I will officially log my weight tomorrow morning. As you can see, we're pretty close to each other.

I had my first follow up last week and my surgeon said I'm exactly where I should be, so don't get too down on yourself. I was kind of hoping I had lost more too, but I'm trying to think of this as a marathon and not a sprint. I know it will come off - it has to considering the amount of calories I net in a day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
